Multi-Faith Family Picnic Brings Unlikely Neighbors Together
MIAMI, FL – April 10, 2025 – The 2nd Annual Multi-Faith Family Picnic, organized by Love Your Neighbor Community (LYNC) in partnership with Crossbridge Church Brickell and the Islamic Center of Greater Miami (ICGM), will take place on Friday, April 26, from 3:00–6:00 PM at 1770 Brickell Ave, Miami, FL 33129.
The first multi-faith family picnic began last year following a mutual decision by Miami pastors and imams to bring their congregations together to get to know more about the other. The Islamic Center hosted last year’s picnic on its mosque grounds, where over 400 Muslims and Christians attended. For some, the picnic was the first time attendees had an intentional conversation with someone from the other community beyond mere basics. According to both party’s agreement, the mosque and the church will continue the event each year, each taking turns to host. This year it is CrossBridge’s turn to host.
The church’s pastor, Carter Brown called last year’s picnic “unforgettable,” and says he wants to return the favor.
“More importantly, we’ll have the chance to connect and really get to know one another. That’s the heart behind the Multi-Faith Family Picnic,” he said. “We believe we’re called to love our neighbors and work together for the common good. But that starts with relationships—by showing up, listening, and building trust.”
“This kind of event is very important. There are other families involved as well as the youth and the kids. It’s a win-win situation, because I see the happiness, I see the fun on the kids’ faces, and they are very excited, and I’m excited, because I love it. It’s amazing.” Tahir Ismal, Program Director – Islamic Center of Greater Miami (ICGM)
“I love seeing that different cultures and different faiths are coming together—and we’re sharing that no matter what faith or culture we belong in, we’re all God’s creation. We’re coming together, connecting with one another, having a good time, and sharing these memories together—that’s my favorite part.” – Labib Ahmed, Board Member – Islamic Center of Greater Miami (ICGM).
Attendees of the 2nd Annual Multi-Faith Family Picnic can look forward to a vibrant and family-friendly atmosphere featuring a variety of engaging activities and entertainment. The event will include:
- A selection of delicious food trucks, including Halal options
- Bounce houses and inflatable slides for children
- A hands-on petting zoo experience
- Local art displays showcasing diverse creative talents
- And much more to delight guests of all ages
With something for everyone, the picnic offers a unique opportunity for individuals and families from all backgrounds to connect, celebrate, and enjoy a day of community and joy.
Free parking is available on-site, with entry accessible from the South Miami side of the property.
Leaders from both the Christian and Muslim communities continue to champion covenantal pluralism—a relational approach that embraces deep differences while seeking shared humanity and mutual respect.
An invitation has been extended to the Mayor of Miami, and additional invitations will be sent to the Miami-Dade County Mayor as well as representatives from the Governor’s Faith and Community Office.
